Drink matcha before you study, go to work, or head to the gym. The energy, antioxidants and mood enhancers in Matcha Tea will boost you to new level of clarity, alertness and longevity!

Weight Loss

Studies have suggested that green tea can boost your metabolism. One such study showed that people who drink green tea regularly had an increase in their metabolism of about 3 to 4 percent. This doesn't seem like much, but this translates into an increase of up to 35 to 43 percent in daily calories burnt. Though our Matcha is no miracle drug, it may be a very effective and natural weight loss aid.

Mood Enhancement

Matcha improves mood, energy, and concentration. Buddhist Monks, as well as Japanese Zen Monks, drank Matcha before meditation because it provides a sustained, calm alertness which aids in meditation. This is due to it’s unique combination of amino acids and caffeine that balance each other perfectly.

Antioxidants

Matcha's antioxidant content is among the highest of the many antioxidant-rich foods out there. It exponentially contains more antioxidants than foods known for antioxidants such as blueberries and pomegranates.Being green tea it already has more antioxidants than other teas from the Camellia Sinesis plant including black and oolong tea. But even better, when you drink a cup of Matcha you are consuming more antioxidants than a regular cup of brewed green tea since you are consuming 100 percent of the leaf.

Anti-Aging

Antioxidants have many beneficial traits, one of them being their anti-aging properties. Antioxidants fight free radicals that cause aging all throughout our body helping you look and feel younger for longer.

ORAC Value

ORAC units are the units of measurement for antioxidants developed by the National Institute on Aging and are what help all of us compare the many antioxidant celebrated foods and beverages on the market today. According to this system of measurement, Matcha has over 1300 units/gram. Depending on your preference, one 3 to 4 ounce cup of our Matcha will contain 1 to 2 grams which translates to 1300 to 2600 ORAC units.

When you compare that same cup of Matcha to other high antioxidant foods, you will be consuming the same amount of antioxidants as up to 6 cups of spinach, 1/3 cup of blueberries, half a glass of red wine, or 4.5 glasses of white wine.

Improved Sexual Performance

Matcha increases the circulation of blood and oxygen throughout your body. Matcha's mood enhancing effects, along with the increase in circulation it brings gives your body what it needs, when it needs it the most.

EGCg

Catechins, a category of polyphenols, are chemicals with very potent antioxidant properties, and EGCg is the most potent and prevalent of these found in green tea. EGCg has recently attracted much attention and study for the reason of it's various beneficial properties including the ability to fight cancer.

Cancer-Fighting

Catechins, possibly the most potent of all antioxidants, are only found in green tea. Catechins, specifically EGCg, have very potent cancer-fighting properties. Matcha has up to 137 times as much of this EGCg as a regular, steeped cup of green tea.

Lung Cancer

Matcha helps to reduce the risk for lung cancer in both those who do smoke, and even those who don’t. A 2010 study in Taiwan found that those who drink green tea, but DON’T smoke, reduce their chances for lung cancer by 5 times and that those who drink green tea and DO smoke reduce their chances by 13 times. Many believe that Japan’s low lung cancer rate can be largely attributed to this, as many in the Japanese population drink green tea at least several times a day. Another study done in the US found that those who drank green tea had a 25 percent decrease in cellular lung damage caused by smoke, while drinking black tea or water had no effect.

Brain Cancer

According to a 2010 study done in Korea, caffiene was found to block the growth of IP3R, a substance that is closely linked with the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer found in humans, glioblastoma.

Gallbladder

A US study was done in 2006 showing that women who consumed at least one cup of green tea per day for at least 6 months were 27 percent less likely to suffer from gall stones, 44 percent less likely to develop gallbladder cancer, and 35 percent less likely to undergo bile duct cancer.
